FAQ
Straight answers, before the call.
The questions owners actually ask, answered the way we would answer them on the phone. Anything not covered here gets a straight answer on a thirty-minute call.
Is Stratify software, or an agency?
Both, and the names keep it straight. Stratify is the company. Stratify OS is the system your company runs on — the pipeline, the clocks, the guards, the reporting. Alongside it we run the services that fill and support that system: appointment setting, database rehash, sales training and virtual selling. You can take the software on its own, but most owners come to us because the two together are what actually changes their week.
Do you compete with me?
No, and that is deliberate. We do not roof, we do not sell materials, we do not run crews in your market and we do not take a percentage of your jobs. Several of the newest contractor platforms are owned by roofing companies operating across multiple states, and the free ones are funded by material distributors. Both are reasonable businesses, but both mean your pipeline, your margins and your customer list sit in a database owned by someone with a second interest in your company. We only have the one.
Nobody else books appointments as well as selling software. Why do you?
Because a system with nothing in it is a filing cabinet, and most of the companies that need better software also need a fuller calendar. We ran the sales floor before we built the platform, so booking qualified homeowners onto a rep's calendar is not a bolt-on for us — it is where the business started. You can buy either on its own. Most owners take both because the two together are what actually changes their week.
We already have JobNimbus / AccuLynx / GoHighLevel. Why move?
Often you should not, and we will tell you so. Those systems store what already happened and they do it fine. The reason to move is if the thing you need is a system with an opinion — one that blocks a contract against an expired licence, escalates a job that has sat too long, and refuses to let work go out half-finished. If what you actually need is your current CRM configured properly, we will audit it and fix it instead.
Will our team actually use it?
That is the real risk, which is why mapping your process comes before any configuration. Software built on top of a process nobody follows just adds friction, and reps route around friction within a fortnight. If your process is the problem we say so before building anything on top of it.
Does it handle insurance work as well as retail?
Yes, as one pipeline rather than two. A job carries a funding path, and the stages that only apply to a claim appear only on claim work. Both paths rejoin at the permit. The claim side covers the claim record, the deadline tracker, the adjuster-meeting packet and the supplement narrative — we deliberately do not price carrier scopes, because that is your estimator's job and it should stay there.
What happens to our existing data?
It comes with you and gets de-duplicated on the way in. A clean build on a small team is a different job from migrating four years of messy history, so we scope it before quoting rather than guessing.
What counts as a qualified appointment?
The homeowner owns the property. They are inside your service area. They have confirmed a budget and a timeline. And they have agreed to a specific time on your calendar with your rep. If an appointment misses any one of those four, it does not count against your package and you are not billed for it.
Why won't you guarantee a close rate?
Because it depends on your reps, your pricing and your reputation — three things we do not control. We guarantee appointment volume and the qualification standard in writing. Anyone guaranteeing installs is selling you something they cannot deliver.
What size company is this a fit for?
Owner-operated residential roofing and HVAC companies doing replacement work, typically from about a million in revenue up to the point where the owner is still the bottleneck. Below that the honest answer is usually that you need appointments, not software.

Still got one?
Ask it on the call. You will get the same answer either way — including when the answer is that we are not the right fit.
